Moving blogs is so hard to do!

Jul. 8th, 2008 | 04:12 pm

In my effort to make this easier, it got difficult! My new blog is hosted on my website and apparently my hosting provider doesn't let me forward my website to itself. Kudos if you just followed that mess:)

So I need to brainstorm a better way to do this but until then, if you entered www.lynnmichelleblog.com you came back to good old livejournal!

I will give you guys the 411 when everything is smooth again!

Ice cream & Ink ...

Jul. 1st, 2008 | 03:23 pm

Two things that magically appeared today!

Kimberly came over to pick up her guestbook and she brought 2 pints of Ben & Jerry's ice cream. We tore into the Creme Brulée, which I think is completely fab!

I also have to gloat about the customer service from IT Supplies. I have three printers so I go through a lot of ink. I recently discovered IT Supplies from a colleague and that is where I purchased my large format printer. I decided to compare their ink prices and I was pleasantly surprised that they both offered free shipping and competitive pricing. What I was NOT expecting was to get my ink the next day! I placed my order yesterday at 1:25pm and I had it in my hands 24 hours later. WOW.

Love and hugs today go to Kimberly, Ben & Jerry's, and ITsupplies.com!

Addision & Trevor's Epics

Jul. 1st, 2008 | 12:15 am

It's not often that I get home and go straight to my photo box. In fact, this is the first time I have had to open that bad boy up in YEARS. The photo box is the home of random film prints and spools of developed, tightly wound film. It's basically a scrapbooker's unfiled, chaotic nightmare. I was on a mission to find pictures of summer camp, circa 1993.

What brought on this bout of nostalgia? O, that would be the random fact that I knew Trevor back in the day when our parents shipped us off to a summer day camp. My usual warm up, witty banter went from being nice to being inquisitive after Trevor casually mentioned his last name. A little light bulb came on and I put two and two together.

So for your viewing enjoyment, I present a year in my life called 1993.

Trevor is on the far right. The guy in the back is Scott Mechlowicz. Bonus points if you recognize the name.

I'm in the back. Not only am I sporting an awesome beaded choker, but I am wearing a black bodysuit and awesome flower-patterned shorts. I think the outfit screams 1993, don't you? DEAD SEXY.

Enough about the past, here are a few pictures from today:

I love Weezer. I love amusing videos. I enjoy them even more when I happen to know the creator (& star?). Here's "Pork and Beans" in stop motion, as envisioned by Sirus...

Becky & Damon's wedding

Jun. 29th, 2008 | 03:28 pm

Becky & Damon wow'ed us, made us cry, and entertained us! I won't give away too much about what happened because I want to show it all in pictures, but I will share a few of my favorites that I picked out!

Tyler & Lauren's Wedding

Jun. 28th, 2008 | 02:29 am

I can't believe I am blogging at 2:30 in the morning. I downloaded all of my images from the wedding, backed them up and started posting them, and somehow it was 2am-ish.

Everyone was great, we fit in so well with the families and the bridal party was so easy to work with! Sure, it's easy to say that when you only have a maid of honor, best man and two ushers. But they still rocked.

And a hint as to where the reception took place:

I also want to shout out to the excellent bartender at the La Cima Club, Alan, for keeping my Dr Pepper glass filled all night. Seriously, I would set it down to take a shot and, VIOLA!, a freshly topped off glass. Alan, you rock!

Lesson of the day.

Jun. 27th, 2008 | 02:00 am

I am crazy freaked out about jump starting a car. I'm always so worried about black and red, negative and positive, black touching red .... ahhhhhh. I just have heart palpitations through the whole process as I read the little instructions over and over just to make sure I have it all in the right order. Positive of dead car, positive of live car, negative of live car, negative of dead car .... Close eyes and start dead car.  I used to run DC piggy back cables in my previous life and here I am scared of a little car battery!

It wasn't even my car battery that was dead- I ran over to jump start someone else's car. Even though I have a panic attack when jumping a car, it should have been a breeze, but then I remembered that my German-made bucket has the battery in the trunk. No worries, my husband had assured me there were positive and negative connections under the hood. He was right, but it took me 10 minutes and 2 manuals to prove him right.

So here is the lesson of the day:

1. Always have jumper cables in your trunk because sometimes a two-year old car battery will die without warning.
2. The order, according to the paperwork is: Red (positive of dead car), Red (positive of live car), black (negative of live car), black (negative of dead car). Start dead car.
3. Sometimes your husband is right when it comes to cars. (But I will deny this statement up and down if anyone asks).
4. Who thought putting a battery in the trunk was a good idea? I think it's weird personally. O ya, that's right. I called it weird.

Psst, Jacob's back!

Jun. 26th, 2008 | 02:39 pm

... and he brought little Ella in for her first photo session!

In all seriousness, I've gotten quite a few emails asking how Jacob is. It was hard to go from seeing him every month to waiting for Miss Ella to come out and play! In 6 months, he has just gotten oodles cuter and he's really funny, mimicking his parents and "talking" up a storm.

Ella is still pretty brand new so I haven't actually touched her yet. I like to wait until they are less head-bobbley before I mess with them. We quickly indoctrinated her to her first portrait session and went straight to the tiny tutu that I have. I know, we are evil. But at least it's a cute kind of evil, right?

Here- Ella is crying and Jacob is trying to pick her up. On a scale of cute to super cute, this definitely scores in super cute territory.

There's a terrific story behind this one. But I'm not telling :)

Big stretch!

Jacob LOVED the car

This is my favorite, Jacob ran by with the pearls and decided to take a bite out of them for good measure.

For those of you longing for your Jacob fix, he will be back in the 3, 6, 9 and 12 months!

Addison's Bridals

Jun. 26th, 2008 | 02:26 pm

Let me just say that the moms and the flowers gave up before we did. Photo proof:

Addison totally rocked it, 100 degrees and full sunlight be damned! I even tried to be as nice as possible and keep her in the shade but she was up for playing right near the water.

random email Wednesday

Jun. 25th, 2008 | 02:35 pm

I got the funniest, most random email from Thuy today. Vivian, Pam and I shot her & Eric's wedding last in June, so it was such a pleasure to hear from her and bust out laughing at the same time. Yes, I'm sitting alone in the studio laughing my butt off!

So I wanted to give her a shout out on my blog and I wanted to showcase some of my favorite picture from their wedding...

Vivian's Birthday

Jun. 25th, 2008 | 08:02 am

Vivian's birthday was on Saturday and we DEFINITELY had to have cake. And candles. And insanity.

She took out every single candle separately for maximum impact.

Quack!

Jun. 25th, 2008 | 07:41 am

Nancy and I had just arrived at White Rock Lake for bridals when I started seeing ducklings falling out of a REALLY tall oak tree. There were probably at least 8 of them and they just fell, one by one and waddled over to their mother.

About midway through this process, a very nice policeman on a bike came upon the scene and he noticed me standing there staring with a camera in my hand and stopped to see what was going on.

The mother duck and her ducklings made their way to the water but the little runt was quite a ways away so nice Mr Officer and the future mother in law of my bride helped get the little guy into the water.

Look Puppies!

Jun. 24th, 2008 | 12:03 am

Some of my friends and I have had this joke that was randomly say "Look, Puppies!"  So when I got this postcard from Kelly (who is rocking the sand in Iraq), I squealed. It was perfect!

Jessica, Ty, Cooper & Beau

Jun. 23rd, 2008 | 01:56 pm

I brought out my Dallas crew for portraits yesterday, while Jessica and Ty brought out their own crew. We had such a blast playing in the park and then sipping caffeinated beverages at Corner Bar on McKinney Ave. We also have a lot of funny stories to tell, but I'm going to let "PK" off the hook this time!

Here's  a preview of the "crew".

Cooper (left), Beau (right)

And here's the awesome email I got from Jessica this afternoon:

"Lynn,

I just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our shoot yesterday!  You, Vivian, and Nancy are so great to work with and such a breath of fresh air!! Beau and Cooper couldn’t stop talking about how much fun they had with you girls!! Thank you for all your hard work and we are looking forward to the pics!!

Thanks again,

Jessica"

Woohoo, they like us!
